New Road planning development

Walking over the Easter break - I've noticed there is a portaloo on the land and some machine levelling has taken place. Is the Council aware of this given the number of objections to this planning proposal?  Surely this shouldn't be allowed?

SPC are aware of the work. I spoke with two individuals at the site a few days ago. It was archaelogical investigations on the land.

Roger, the decision date is 5th May. If officers are going to refuse the application, it is possible the decision could be published in advance of this, but if they are recommending approval, it is almost certain to go to committee at a later date because of the size of the application and the level of objections. In the event of refusal, decisions regarding revised plans or an appeal would be down to the applicant.

If slo worms are found at the site, then they would have to be removed/re-located off the site - this is a check at pre-planning stage.

Roof felt is often used as a place where invertebrates like slo worms might shelter beneath. They peek under the felt to check if one has taken refuge underneath

In their objection dated 4/3/2025, County Archaeological Services stated that an archaeological field evaluation was required; this is probably the reason for the excavations.
